5 Tips for Having a Cosy Student Room

When hearing the words "student room", you automatically think of a small cramped space>. But however small your student room may be, there are always ways to make it feel cosier and less cramped. Read on to learn more.

Tip 1: Choose a duvet cover that suits you

One of the most visible features in your student room will be your duvet. Make sure you get a duvet cover that suits your style, but also one that goes well with the room. Colourful, simple, bland, you can choose whichever duvet covers you want. Having a duvet cover that you like really makes your room feel more snug and less confined!

Tip 2: Get some decorative pillows

Feel free to add some decorative pillows to your bed and turn it in to a make-shift sofa during the day. You can also throw some pillows on the floor for when your friends come over so they have something to sit on!

Tip 3: Make a DIY headboard

Spruce up your sleeping area by making a DIY headboard. All you need is a wooden plank. You can paint it whatever you like, and decorate it in whichever way you please. Tip 4: Get a nice, colourful or tapered rug.

Almost all student accommodation comes with a desk. Unfortunately, they’re an essential part of student life, and you’re probably going to be spending a long time studying at that desk. Why not customise your desk? With a little DIY, you can transform your boring old table into a cosy little study space. Consider pinning up a motivation chart above your desk.
